The set was: Duke's medley - Land of confusion - Invisible touch. A good performance with Phil getting a bit disappointed with the people not properly ansering at the end of Invisible touch.....

Brilliant opening set , shame that Wembley was only half full , huge crowds still coming in when they had finished.
Just heard Jonathon Ross issuing a complaint about the F word used by Phil during invisible touch.
I`m sure I saw wry smiles exchanged between Mike and Daryl when he sung that.

Am I right in thinking that is the first time G have played with Phil up front in the UK for 15 years?
I can remember the days when they sold out Wembley night after night after night.

Oh I agree, I thought I saw Mike and Daryl just smile at each other after that, in fact the look on Phil's face ALONE when he was signing the line, was worth getting up early on the weekend to watch it on my laptop...THANK GOD FOR ROUTERS

Absolutly right!
He could better say that next time the audience sings a little better along with Phil at Land of Confusion

Would have been even better if the stadium had been completely full.
What`s with the crowd still coming in almost an hour later after the start ?
Although I thought that Chris Moyles gave Genesis a fantastic introduction.
Best British band ever

I thought Chris Moyles was spot on, but I am a little biased.
I have just read the papers and it describes WRINKLY Phil Collins and his picture with SWEARING underneath: Well strike me down with a feather, there are worse things that saying ONE F word : in these days, people ought to be concerned about other issues.

I'ts okay if p diddy tells his audience that he is a mother f... ni... from the bronxs who tells his fans to kill mr. whitey but thats o.k since they can cry oh were all racsist which to me is the biggest excuse that they use.genesis has never been in the spotlight for that type of crap and now that he said the f.. word the media will run with this one.
so phil ;If you don't stand up you don't stand a chance.

Funniest thing I have ever seen. Watching WCW Nitro one night in 98 a sign directly facing the camera...."FUH - Q"
Phil bring on the cusses for Philly, You'll fit right in. Honestly I can't believe this is as big as it is! If I wasn't afraid to get banned from this board My post would have read..... F*ck

Hi all,
I saw the band on Live Earth and had been really looking forward to it, but I have to say, I thought they didn't come over well.
I am a very big fan, so want them to show the world how great they can be, but sadly felt that this was not achived at Live Earth.
Some of this was out of their hands, like the fact that they were opening the show and that there was a half empty stadium to entertain.
However, watching acts later on in the show and how they really engaged the audience, and had the whole place jumping and enthralled (I thought the Foo Fighters were great, for example) I thought Genesis looked really flat in comparison. There just wasn't much energy, ball or drama to the performance.
They lacked energy and Phil looked rather *beep* off and slightly embarrassed to be there. The music was ok. I loved Behind the lines and Turn it On Again, but have to say, for me, Land of Confusion and Invisible Touch are just naff (especially Land of Confusion, which in my opinion suffers badly from trite, embarrassing lyrics - 'My generation will put it right!'). That's just my preference of course and I guess they made good choices fo the event.
I know lots of people on this forum and others enjoyed it, but I think it was disappointing in relation to the wider world. I would love to have seen them play later in the bill, when the stadium was full.
I hope tht everyone who saw them in Manchester and London had a great time. It certainly seems like it from the comments I'm reading and I look forward to the DVD.
best wishes,
Chris
