Well, it was visually the best concert of this tour, because... I was on it :)

But - The darkness, thunders, lightings, rains, was something that improved this fantastic event. There were such moments as for example - lighting appeared in the lat second of Land of Confusion (it also appeared in the ending of Home by the sea - scary scary....) :o .
Audience were singing and dancing (in the rain). I never forget it....

After seeing the videos, I thimk Genesis are getting better night ater night and that Poland - considering the 98 concerts also - is Genesis' new home country. A great enthusiasm not seen elsewhere 'til now...Congratulations to Polish crowd from an Italian roaring fan...
Cheers, TheKnife

Well, after seeing these videos I think I can just emphasize the problem of starting the concerts as early as they have done on the early leg of the tour. Sure, the Danish audience was pretty lacking of enthusiasm, but I mean, visually the concert in Denmark was boring, so who can blame them really? I knew the light show was gonna be amazing in darkness, but looking at the Katowice vides I realize just how amazing it is, and I'm positive it makes a world of a difference in how the audience percieve the show - which will again reflect on the performance of the band, which is going to get better when the audience is more enthusiastic.

go to daryl stuermer site to listen to his new "note from the road" report from hanover talking about the previous unforgettable concert in Poland....he says they had to play turn it on again almost completely without tony's keyboards due to electrical problems for the storm around the arena......can you imagine that?!? Can't wait to listen that version of the track!!!Cheers, TheKnife :D

i was rigth infront of scene and Tony was very sad 'bout offline keyboard on "Turn It On Again". But the other guys end this song compensating it with strong guitar riffs. Then Phil said - F***ing Rain! ;)

The rest of the show was fantastic! i even saw people from the previous CAS tour in Katowickiy Spodek, the were right behinde me ;)

If GM or EF will release this bootleg DVD i'll be the hapiest person in the World ;)

Yo, another Katowice attendee checking in. To my delight, and amazement, I can see the gig has been covered extensively elsewhere. But let me just emphasise how BLOODY HARD IT RAINED!

My pal came over from Blightey especially for the gig, although he also wanted to see my new son. Well, Thursday- the day of the gig- he was coming in to Katowice airport, so I drove out to get him from my home in Kraków. It's not a huge trip, but I'd never done it before. Fortunately it was easy enough, but the journey from the airport to the Stadion Slaski was a real *beep*! Looonngg story short, we got there at about 2:30 pm, with a 4:30 pm gates open for an 8pm start.

So we gets our beer in - the bar outside the stadium was playing the official Invisible Touch concert DVD to get us all in the mood - take a seat under an umbrella in the beer garden, and settle in. 10 minutes later- Rain. And, basically, it did not stop untill we left Chorzów (the part of Katowice that has the venue) at about 11:30 that night.

Needless to say, we had lots of fun chatting to the Polish fans, most of whom seemed to be younger, 80's era fans. We spoke to quite a few young ladys (*ahem*)who claimed that their boyfriends/husbands were 'old skool' Gabriel fans, but they themselves were always only rooting for the IT/WCD school of Genny. Which is fine with me, I love it all.

It has to be said, the Polish fans were beautiful. One bloke, queing in front of us with his son, gave us his umbrella to huddle under. Then, when we were in our seats getting absolutely soaked, we bought a pair of rain ponchos from a salesman. We were both struggling to get them over our heads and down our backs, and the people behind us lent over and helped us into them.

Aaanyway, yes, they played their *beep* off, no doubt. We were thinking the whole time that it was going to be called off, or that they'd give up, but as an earlier poster said, Phil and the guys soldiered on, and despite some dodgey phonetic Polish phrases unashamedly read off a piece of paper, they absolutely rocked our socks off. Home By The Sea particularly benefited from the thunder and lightning. My pal is your typical 'Gabriel IS Genesis' blinkered fan, and even he was impressed at how hard they exploded the place with block-rocking tunes. Yes.

So there ya go. And once again, let me just say - POURING F***ING RAIN!!

*Edit* After having just watched all the YT vids (bardzo dzienkuje!), I'd just like to add that they don't really do justice to the fact that it SLASHED WITH THICK, FAT, EVIL RAIN NON-STOP!! Cheers.

I'd just like to reiterate the rain aspect mentioned a few posts above. Along with many others, I went to a huge department store across the street and bought a rain jacket. No matter. It POURED, non-stop, solid, for the entire show. Luckily it wasn't too cold or windy.

Lightning bolts did punctuate the sky on cue. Particularly the last note of LOC had a huge bolt right above the stage. This was actually pretty scary, and maybe pretty stupid for all of us to be there, but we took a chance, I guess.

Still, a great show of course. Memorable indeed.
