Post Three Sides Live clarification
Is the original Three Sides Live release the only place where the following songs can be found?
1. Paperlate
2. you Might Recall
3. Evidence of Autumn
4. Open Door

If so, then,.......Why?

If not, then,...... where else can I find these.

I would have thought "Perfect TSL" would've had these or at least one of the better recordings from the early 80's.

Thank you in advance,

Corry

You can also find the Three Sides Live CD itself in both versions (with four live "sides", and with three live "sides" plus the five extra tracks).

In addition to the Genesis 1976-1982 box set, you can also find all four of the tracks you listed on CD in the Genesis Archive II: 1976-1992 box set (but not the fifth track, which you didn't mention: "Me and Virgil").

My bad......
I'll assume that none of those tracks were ever done live then?

Thank you all for the info.

Paperlate was included in the setlist in 1982. You can hear it in boots such as this one:

Me And Virgil was also done live twice in the beginning of the tour.

Since "Me and Virgil" was released on the Paperlate EP (released May 1982), the audience had never heard the song when Genesis played it in September 1981. (The live database says it was played Sept. 25, 26, and 27, but other sources agree with kaspergm that it was played only twice.) In any event, I think this was the only time that the Phil Collins-era Genesis played a song in concert before it had been released.

"Paperlate" became a hit, but the band didn't want to play it with synthesized fake horns. So they only played it four times: Aug 9-10 (Los Angeles) and Aug 22-23 (Forest Hills, NY). At these shows, the Phoenix Horns (a.k.a. the Earth Wind & Fire horn section) joined Genesis on stage for "Paperlate" and "No Reply at All". This is the same horn section that plays on the studio recordings. You can find these shows in the torrent site -- although there are no soundboard recordings of this tour, sadly.

You can also find all three of these tracks live on Rare Tapes Vol. 4.

Me And Virgil might have been done thrice - not too sure on that, didn't check it, and if live database says three dates, that's probably true.
